Roanoke Family Community Church
This Roanoke Rapids Church plant baptized over 40 new believers in 2014.
Sunday Worship Services begin at 10:30 am and Bible Study is on Tuesday evenings.
The church moved to 1134 Marshall Street during the winter of 2013-2014 with a 'rent to own' agreement
with the owner of the church building. Each Saturday morning members of this church make
door-to-door contacts within the neighborhood to discover ways in which they can minister to the community.
Rev. Jae Richardson, African American Ministry Consultant with the Baptist State Convention, has also assisted by
leading the congregation through special training events.
The church participated in a community Good Friday Service at First Baptist, Weldon. Pastor Carlton Williams was one of the speakers along with the pastor of Weldon Baptist, Keith Thomason. On April 26, the congregation provided a Prayer Ministry Booth and gave away bottled water, gospel tracts, etc. at the Community Wellness Fair. The church partnered with Community Services to provide a location for a Summer Feeding Program. Vacation Bible School at RFCC ministered to 75 children contacted through this ministry.
RFCC provides transportation to services for ladies and children staying in the shelter provided by Hannah's Place and local community families with a van donated by Arlington Baptist Church. Dr. J. Chris Schofield, Prayer and Spiritual Awakening Leader for the Baptist State Convention of NC, recently led a prayer conference at the church. New church members have been making improvements to the church property and becoming actively involved in the evangelistic outreach program.
