Our Association partners with Deaf Opportunity OutReach ministry (DoorInternational.org) which plant Deaf churches worldwide and has developed a sign language website (www.deafbibles.com) in which the hearing impaired can learn the Bible in their country's sign language, understand the gospel and grow as followers of Christ. DOOR has a cooperative relationship with the SBC's International Mission Board and they work together in sharing Christ with the Deaf - one of the most unreached people groups in the world.
Mike Buus served as an international church planter for 22 years including 15 years serving as the President of DOOR. Donnie Wiltshire of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina has known 'Mike & the ministry of DOOR stating that Mike has developed DOOR into one of the premier mission organizations in the world for reaching Deaf people with the gospel.' Prior to his involvement in this ministry, Mike was the President of Goodwill Industries in Southern Arizona and in Florida and he has established and managed independent thrift stores to support local Christian ministries. He brings a great deal of Thrift Store Industry expertise to this joint venture.
