CRIME PREVENTION BY WAY OF THE CROSS

John 15:16, "... I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you."

*The North Roanoke Baptist Association is happy to partner with TRC by providing space at the Association Office.

Tar Roanoke Chaplaincy, founded by Rev. Horace Ward, exists to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to the incarcerated in eastern North Carolina. We go weekly into the jails of Nash, Edgecombe, Wilson, Franklin, Halifax, and Warren counties. We also minister frequently at Coastal Plain Mental Health Hospital and Edgecombe Youth Development Center in Rocky Mount, Nash Correctional Institution, and some other prison less regularly.

Tar Roanoke Chaplaincy is a non-denominational jail and prison ministry supported with volunteer, prayer and financial help from a variety of churches of different backgrounds in the area. TRC has been sending men and women into area facilities for over 30 years, and we wish to continue pointing those humbled by incarceration to our only Savior until He returns.

TRC current ministers to 7 local jails and prisons and coastal plain hospital each week. Ministry includes worship services, Bible studies, discipleship, one-on-one spiritual counselling.
