THE ESTABLISHMENT AND PURPOSE OF INJOY

The InJoy Thrift Store of Rocky Mount opened for business on August 1, 2013 as the result of a joint venture between the North Roanoke Baptist association and Deaf Opportunity Out-Reach (DOOR). The North Roanoke Baptist Association is a cooperative network of 63 Southern Baptist Churches in Nash, Halifax, and Edgecombe Counties. One half of the proceeds generated by InJoy are distributed among 13 local community ministries in our area and the other half of the funds are donated to DOOR. DOOR is a global evangelistic ministry to the deaf whose goal is to establish churches which minister to the hearing impaired.

Our association churches lead in providing volunteer workers and donations, while DOOR has provided start-up capital, thrift store management consulting, and legal expertise. This collaborative effort is governed by a local Board of Directors. The Lord Jesus Christ is being honored as we work together in His Name and we acknowledge His blessings upon this endeavor.

Our community benefits as families purchase high quality items at thrifty prices. Churches are strengthened as we work together in ministry. Believers enjoy fellowship, build relationships, and connect to the local community as we serve together. Thousands of lives are impacted by supporting ministries that meet physical and spiritual needs around the clock everyday. We are grateful for the many volunteers, donations, and shoppers who make this work possible.
