We had a wonderful Sr. Adult Spring Luncheon at West Edgecombe Church with about 240 in attendance. Since the luncheon was the week of the Kentucky Derby, the theme for the event was Carolina Derby. The program began with the North Carolina State Song, many of the ladies wore Derby Hats, and decorations provided a Derby Horse Racing atmosphere. Amy Kornegay from Spring Hope provided an outstanding program through song and testimony. Emily Jones, our Sr. Ministry Director also complemented the program by sharing Scripture relating to “running the race.” Several of the seniors participated in horse races (with stick horses) and the winners received a bouquet of roses. Robert Harris Catering provided a delicious meal and we thank West Edgecombe Church for serving as an amazing host.
