Kairos is one ministry composed of three programs. Kairos Inside serve incarcerated men and women living in prison. Kairos Outside reach out to the women outside whose lives are impacted by incarceration, because families "do time" right along with their incarcerated relatives/friends. Kairos Torch encourage young men and women to share their life journey and change their behavior through participation in a long-term mentoring process.
Most recently, the ministry has been focusing our efforts on replenishing the volunteer base to support Nash Correctional in Momeyer and establish itself at Edgecombe Youth Development Center in Rocky Mount. The lives of many within local churches have been positively impacted as well. Much of the work is actually done outside of the prison setting which offers tremendous opportunity for service by literally every age group of the Church, without setting foot on prison ground.
