Good News Church is planning a mission trip to West Virginia this summer. Luke and Valerie King went with John and Susan Hamm on an overnight Vision trip to the Alleghany Baptist Association in Summersville, West Virginia. They met with Dennis Cherry, Director of Missions and pastors from 2 churches in the area to discuss possible mission trip opportunities. The Good News Team plans to lead a 3 day VBS and complete a painting project at Calvary Church. They will also assist the nearby Mountain Marketplace Mission benevolence ministry that ministers to hundreds of needy families each week. This overnight excursion was also helpful in planning travel routes; best places to stop; and interesting sightseeing locations to make for a productive and enjoyable ministry experience.
WVA Mission Trips are a particularly great opportunity for a first-time mission trip. Your team will fill a great need; the travel distance is not that great; and it is still possible to experience a different culture. We are thankful for other NRBA churches that have gone on WVA Mission Trips in recent years including Parkwood, Union, Momeyer, Elm Grove, and Southside. If your church would be interested in a WVA Mission Trip Presentation or assistance in planning a trip that will strengthen your church and serve others in the name of Christ contact the association office.
