NRBA churches are continuing to have a growing response to the Appalachian Regional Backpack Ministry each year in October. In 2020, during the pandemic, we collected about 400 backpacks at the association office in partnership with Baptists on Mission. “Thanks to Halifax Church for transporting backpacks to Red Springs.”
These Christmas backpacks are delivered to children by local churches in Appalachia. By partnering with these local congregations, the gospel is being shared with families who need the love of Christ at Christmas. Across North Carolina, Baptists collected almost 20,000 backpacks last year. Whether you donate 1 or 100, this is a great project for your Sunday School Class, Ministry, or Congregation.
The association office is one of the collection sites for this outreach.
