Are You a Healthy Church?

Church Health is the crucial foundation for both "church growth" and "church survival." Similar to how a plant needs proper soil, sunlight, and water, churches must meet specific conditions for healthy development. Terry Long, a specialist in Church Health and Revitalization from the Baptist State Convention, will help churches identify their strengths and areas for improvement. Association meetings focus on ministry opportunities, inspirational speakers, and training formats, with minimal time spent on business matters. Twenty-seven churches participated in the fall association meeting and it was an opportunity for churches to send leaders to determine the essential components needed for their church to be in good health. The association will prioritize church health as part of its ministry initiatives for 2027.

We thank Dortches Baptist Church for an outstanding job of hosting the meeting. Thanks also to Bruce May, Main Event Catering, and the Dortches ladies for providing a delicious meal and dessert for this event.
