On Monday evening, Nov. 5, 30 ladies representing 10 churches met at the NRBA office for the annual Baptist Women’s Day of Prayer. Mrs. Sue Smith, reported that “a program was presented on the theme, Arise Shine! When We Rise Up, He Shines Through Unity and Justice… We listened, learned, prayed, sang, gave, and fellowshipped as we joined globally with women from all seven Continental Unions representing 193 national Baptist women’s organizations from 156 countries.”

Community Center Church also hosted a simultaneous meeting of 25 ladies from 4 Halifax County churches with Mrs. Edwina Bridges from Darlington leading the program. Mrs. Jeannie Whitehead, shared that “special concerns were for the coming together as a global community of Christian women, praying for the needs of each other such as getting to know God and His forgiveness, peace, economic growth, the stopping of violence toward women and children, and the challenges of the weather that has threatened so many. After a season of prayer the ladies were invited to partake of delicious refreshments and enjoy a time of fellowship.”
