The association office serves as a collection site for the Baptist Children’s Homes Food Round-Up. Even with the pandemic, we still had 14 churches that donated a combined total of over 70 medium sized moving boxes filled with a large variety of canned foods, dry goods, pasta, cereal, and cleaning supplies. Gift cards and checks totaling about $2,000.00 were also contributed.
These churches included Gethsemane, Momeyer, Rock Creek, Stoney Creek Cowboy, First Baptist Gaston, Hobgood, Roanoke, Fishing Creek, Dawson, Quankie, Hickory, Mount Hermon, Halifax, and Union. Many other NRBA churches sent donations to the Baptist Children’s Homes or delivered their collected items directly to the Kennedy Home in Kinston. Churches are looking for practical, tangible ways to be engaged in ministry which will help people during this time. Baptist Children’s Homes has experienced a very challenging year as they care for children and families in 22 locations across NC.
