Darlington Fire Department Appreciation Day

Updated: Aug 28, 2019

On April 28, 2019, Darlington Baptist Church held a Fire Department Appreciation Day where we honored our local, rural fire department located across the street from our church. This day was extra special because one of our own firefighters, Michael Rowland, gave his testimony about how God saved his life back in December when he was impaled by a forklift at work. After the service, we had a catered meal at the Darlington Community Hall, where the fire department and community were able to join in sharing fellowship and a meal.

Michael’s experience led him to accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior and in his testimony, he exhorted all to seek Christ and make Him Lord of their lives. This special service served as a catalyst to bring Darlington and the community close together by sharing Jesus and honoring the unsung heroes often taken for granted. Others have desired to strengthen their relationship with Christ since this event and there has been one salvation recently that was related to this event.

We give special thanks to the NRBA for assisting us in this special community outreach event and look forward to other community opportunities.
