Uncommon Christian Speaker Series

Having received good media coverage days prior to the event, the result was a nice mix of area civic leaders, residents, and pastors who came to hear 2020-22 North Carolina Baptist president, Dr. Micheal S. Pardue, Sr. His February 8th visit was likely the first-ever by a North Carolina Baptist president to 157-year-old Weldon Baptist. Based on Deuteronomy 4:1-6, Pardue delivered a message on, “Obedience to God’s Commandments: The Christian’s Response to Our Secular Age.” A video of the 30-minute message is viewable on the church’s Facebook page. Pardue was the fourth speaker in Weldon Baptist’s new Uncommon Christian Speaker Series, that began in July 2021. While in the eastern part of the state, his visit to Weldon was one of six speaking engagements in four counties - Halifax, Johnston, Northampton and Onslow - during his 3-day trip away from the church he pastors in Connelly Springs. His wife, Rachel, and four of their seven children, traveled with him. Prior to the message, the church’s hospitality committee provided a complimentary lunch.
